I had an appointment today to check on our little girl.  She's still doing great.  I measured perfectly, and her heart rate was in the 150s.  I still can't get over what a miracle she is!  Listening to her heart beat never gets old.  The doctor I saw today was pleased with everything so far, and she put my mind at ease about the abdominal pressure I've been having.  Last Saturday it was absolutely horrible, to the point where I was really scared.  I called the doctor on Monday morning and was told to get a maternity belt.  It's not a comfortable contraption at all, but it has helped with the pressure.  Since it helped, the doctor isn't concerned about preterm labor at this point.  She believes Aniston just moved lower than what she had been and that I'm not used to such pressure.  I was relieved to hear that.

Aniston's movement is still pretty sporadic, but she's beginning to develop more of a pattern.  I can usually expect her to move between 6:30 and 7:00, both in the morning and again in the evening.  Last night she decided to kick constantly from around ten until midnight.  I'm always so thankful for her movement, and last night was no exception, but I was sooo sleepy!

Hello, Third Trimester!!

On Wednesday, I officially entered the third trimester!  I still can't wrap my mind around this miracle we've been given.  After waiting for so long and being told that it just might not be possible, here we are in the third trimester, only twelve weeks away from meeting our little girl.  Absolutely amazing!  We are so, so blessed and so very thankful!

Aniston's crib bedding arrived on Monday.  Since I couldn't find a store that carried the collection I wanted, I ordered it without ever seeing it in person.  I was nervous about doing that, but didn't have any other option.  When it came, I couldn't wait to tear into the box.  It's exactly what I expected, and I love it!  Other than a couple of bibs, this was our first purchase for Aniston.  Until recently, I've been too afraid to really buy anything.  Prayer and Aniston's more-consistent movements have helped me to let go of some of the fear that has plagued me for months, but it still finds a way into my mind and heart at times--far less often than before, but still sometimes. 

We've been (slowly) cleaning out the guest bedroom that will be the nursery.  Our goal is to finish this weekend.  Since we moved into our house two years ago, I've always used the closet in that room to store seasonal decorative things.  Boxing all of that up and moving it to the basement is really the only thing that's left to do.  Bradley has been working on refinishing a chest of drawers that we plan to use in the nursery.  Everything is coming together, slowly but surely. 

Our first baby shower is Sunday!  I am so excited!!

There's no picture today because my brother is borrowing my camera, but I got some fantastic deals at CVS this week!  I completed my purchase in two transactions to make the most of my Extra Care Bucks.

Transaction One

--3 boxes of Finish Dishwasher Gel Pacs (20 ct.), on sale for $3 each, had a $2.25/1 coupon
--1 Airwick Mini, on sale for $5
--Earned $10 ECB for spending $20 on the above products. 
--1 All Free & Clear laundry detergent, on sale $4.99, had a $1/1 coupon, earned $1 ECB
--Used $2 ECBs from last week

Total Out of Pocket (including taxes): $17.52
Total Extra Care Bucks earned:  $11

Transaction Two
--6 Pepsi 12 packs, on sale 6/$20, earned $10 ECB
--Used $11 ECBs from Transaction One

Total Out of Pocket (including taxes): $10.55
Total Extra Care Bucks earned: $10

Overall, I spent $28.07 out-of-pocket for all of  the above items, AND I still have $10 in ECB to use another time!  Not too bad!

Snow Days

It started snowing here early Monday morning.  When we woke up, everything was white and the snow continued to fall for most of the day yesterday.  I'm not exactly thrilled about this.  You see, snow and I have a love/hate relationship.

On one hand, I love it.  I love how quiet it is outside when it snows.  I love how it makes everything look clean and pretty.  I love how time seems to slow down when it snows.

On the other hand, I'm really not a fan of snow that stays around.  Snow causes problems for me, namely in the form of make-up days at school.  Yesterday and today used up our remaining two teacher workdays that were designated as snow make-up days.  The snow doesn't seem to be going anywhere, and if we miss school again tomorrow, we'll be going on Saturdays.  Not fun.  Not only that, but everything is going to be a nasty mess when it does finally begin to melt.  Ick.  Plus, I'm confined to my house.  Bradley informed me yesterday that I wasn't graceful before pregnancy, I'm definitely not graceful now, and that I will not be putting his daughter at risk by venturing out of the house.  Which is fine by me, except it's kind of boring here, especially since he's gone to work both days.  I like being on the go.  Some days I like to stay home and do nothing, but I don't like feeling like I have to stay home.  I'm itching to go somewhere or do something, but that's just not going to happen today.  Or tomorrow.  Sigh.

Yesterday I managed to do nothing all day.  I caught up on the DVR, I napped, I spent too much time on facebook and blogs.  It was a really enjoyable day, but I felt like I wasted the day, too.  Today I'm hoping to get the bedroom we use as a study organized so that everything from the guest bedroom (which will be the nursery) can be moved into it.  It makes me feel tired just thinking about it.  Maybe I'll do some internet shopping and take a nap instead. That's the key to a productive day, right?  Ha!

Yesterday I had my regular monthly appointment to check on Aniston.  Her heart rate was around 140, and I measured right on track.  My blood pressure was slightly higher than what it had been, but I've had a busy and stressful week.  It was still well within the normal range, though, so it's not a concern.   I asked the doctor about the horrendous heartburn I've been having, and he prescribed Pepcid.  My next appointment is in three weeks instead of four.  I can't believe we're to that point already!  I am so thankful that things are going well!

99 Days

There are only 99 days until our little girl's due date!  While I know that the due date is not necessarily the day she'll arrive, it's amazing to think that we are so close to meeting her.  At times this stills seems so unbelievable.  There's so much to do within the next 99 days.  It's a bit overwhelming!  Exciting, but overwhelming!  We are so very blessed!

To mark this making-it-into-the-double-digits milestone, Bradley and I are beginning a project today.  For the next 99 days (or until her actual arrival), we're going to take turns writing letters to Aniston.  The letters will be kept in a journal, but I'm planning to publish some of them on the blog.  I think I'm more excited about this than Bradley is, but it will be a wonderful thing to give her one day.
