Happy Easter!

Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?” But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
“Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified.
He has risen! He is not here."
Mark 16:2-6 NIV
We had breakfast at church this morning.  The men always cook breakfast on Easter, and--just like always--it was delicious!  The worship service was wonderful.  Easter is such a special time, and I am always in awe of how much Jesus loves me.  I am so thankful for His sacrifice and for the promise of eternal life.  What a beautiful, amazing thing!
We spent the rest of the day at home.  My side of the family came to our house for lunch, and we enjoyed spending time with them. Aniston was a wild thing and loved playing with everyone--especially Chelsea.  (She has been Chelsea's little shadow all day today--beginning at church this morning!)
After everyone left, we all took a nap--and it was awesome!  We dyed Easter eggs after Aniston woke up.  That was an experience--and pretty nerve-wracking--but fun.

Happy Easter!

Aniston is Two!

Our sweet princess turned two on Monday!  I can't believe how quickly the time is passing.  I guess time really does fly when you're having fun...and that's exactly what we've been having since Aniston was born!

Aniston's party was on Sunday afternoon.  Since our girl is such a big fan of Minnie Mouse, we knew that had to be the theme of her second birthday.    Last year, I planned to have her party at a local park and it rained, so I definitely learned my lesson and did not make any major outdoor plans.  This ended up being the smartest thing ever because it was rainy and cold on Sunday.  We had rented a bounce house for the party, but were able to cancel it when we saw the forecast last week.  We had the party at our house, and the kids had lots of fun playing together.  The house was full (Just like last year, our list of people to invite was a little out of control. I never want to leave anyone out!), but it was fine.  Aniston had a great time.  She was so funny opening presents--as soon as she opened them, she wanted to take the things to her room to put them away!  We are so blessed to have friends and family to celebrate with us!

Bradley and I both took the day off from work on Monday, and the three of us spent the day together.  Aniston woke up happily talking about cake.  I'm pretty sure that was her favorite part about her birthday.  Ha!

We had planned to go to Monkey Joe's early, but Aniston ate a HUGE breakfast--way more than what I expected her to--and I was afraid jumping right after eating may not be a good idea. So we made a spur-of-the-moment decision to take her to the airport overlook in Charlotte to watch the planes land. It was her first time, and she loved watching the planes. Planes fascinate her anyway, so seeing them closer was fun for her. It was windy and cold, so we just sat in the car, but we had a great time. I'm looking forward to taking her back in the summer.

After watching the planes for awhile and letting breakfast settle, we headed to Monkey Joe's. (Well...we headed to Monkey Joe's after a quick trip to Walmart to pick up diapers and wipes because this mommy walked out of the house without a diaper bag. Seriously, my child is two and I still can't get it together! ;)) We practically had the place to ourselves, and Aniston LOVED IT. She was all over the place! Normally she's super careful, but on Monday she threw caution to the wind and had FUN. Bradley and I had the best time watching her play.

We had lunch at one of our favorite restaurants--Logan's--and then went home for naptime. We had so much fun spending the day with our favorite two year old!

Dear Aniston: 2 Years

Dear Aniston,
Sweet girl, you are TWO years old!  Where has the time gone?  You are growing up so quickly.  While that makes me sad in some ways, it's also very exciting.  It seems like you are changing by the minute, and it is so wonderful to watch and experience.  I love that you are learning and growing.  It's amazing to watch you figure things out and try new things.  Everything is a new adventure for you right now, and that makes it new for me again, too.

You are so much fun!  Your giggles are the most precious thing I've ever heard.  You love to laugh, and make others laugh too.  You are still our little ham--that part of your personality definitely has not changed!  Being the center of attention is fun for you, and you thrive there.  I'm constantly amazed at how social you are.

You're a girly-girl at heart.  While you love being outside, you never leave the house without a bow (and you remind me if I happen to forget as I'm getting you ready!).  When I paint my nails, you want yours done, too.  You love pink, princesses, and playing dress up.  You have a huge imagination!  You love to play pretend in your kitchen or with baby dolls.  I love the way you take care of your dolls--you will be a wonderful mommy one day!

You are talking a lot, and add new words to your vocabulary almost daily.  I love to hear your sweet voice!  You're beginning to say two and three word phrases now, and that's exciting.  One of your favorite things to do lately is play an "I see" game in the car.  You'll say, "I see Mommy!"  No matter what Daddy or I say we see, you always see Mommy.  I love it!  When we tell you we love you, you respond with, "Too".

I am so thankful for you, and for the opportunity to be your mommy.  You have given me so much joy!  I couldn't imagine life without you.  These have been the best two years of my life, and pray I'll share many, many more with you.  You are amazing, sweet girl, and I am blessed beyond measure.

I love you so very much!

Friday Confessions's been awhile.  Somehow, this little blog always gets put on the back burner when life gets hectic.  But I'm back--for today at least (ha!)--and I'm confessing.  Shall we?

1.  I am in love with daylight savings time.  Love. Love. Love.

2.  As much as I love daylight savings time, I do not love what it's done to the princess' sleep schedule.  Mercy, it's been a week!

3.  Speaking of the princess, she'll be two in a little over a week.  What?!

4.  We're in full birthday party planning mode around here.  Lots of pink and lots of Minnie Mouse.  :)

5.  I'm so excited about warmer weather.  This weekend is supposed to be gorgeous!

6.  Gorgeous weekend or not, we've got a to-do list a mile long.  Oh well.  At least it will be pretty while we're cleaning and organizing the garage. :)

Have a great weekend, y'all!
